FEAR OF SCARS
In 2022, I started a photography project inspired by my personal experience of open-heart surgery and the large stitches on my chest. These stitches became not only part of my body but also part of my life story, symbolizing my struggle against pain and illness, as well as my inner strength.
For this project, I joined several other women who had similar experiences, aiming to give strength and solidarity to women facing heart problems. We wanted to show that these stitches are signs of resilience and rebirth.
The photographer of the project, Christian Steinmetz with his artistic perspective, captured the beauty and strength of femininity alongside these scars. The photos from this project were displayed in a gallery and continue to host new women with their remarkable stitches.
This project is an effort to change perspectives and embrace our scars as part of our identity.
